The Engagement

Danny spent 8 days in California on business. While he was away I had a rough week at work. When he returned from his trip he told me that he made an appointment for me to have a facial on Thursday. He wanted to treat me to something nice because I had a bad week and he wasn’t there to help me through it. After the facial on Thursday, I called Danny to thank him. He said he was getting ready to leave his house so that we could go out to dinner that night. When I got home I saw a beautiful table set up outside with candles and tiki torches. There was a vase with red roses and little purple flowers tucked in between the roses. Danny was inside opening a bottle of wine. He made a delicious meal for us to share. He made a summer salad with strawberries and homemade dressing with a pasta bake and a chocolate éclair torte for dessert. It was perfect! I told him what a great surprise dinner was… he said he had one more surprise and pulled out the ring box. He asked me to marry him and of course I said yes through my tears. He came around the other side of the table knelt down and put the ring on my finger.
